Auction House Driver
Full-Time position (Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm)
Salary: £25,000 p/a (depending on experience)

Gildings is a leading auction house specialising in art, antiques furniture, and collectibles, offering an in-house transport service for our private clients. This can range from collecting individual items from a property, to performing a full clearance of material from a home that is then prepared for auction. Job Description:
We’re seeking a reliable, professional Auction House Driver to join our transport and saleroom team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely collecting items from clients’ properties, and returning them through our storage and saleroom facilities. Maintaining an effective storage facility, helping prepare the saleroom space after each auction, and working together with the saleroom and photography team create a unique and varied role within the auction industry. This role requires careful handling of antique and potentially high-value items, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and presentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport auction items, ensuring secure loading, unloading, and delivery
- Collect and deliver goods to and from clients homes
- Assist with setup and removal of items before and after auctions
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Conduct basic vehicle checks and keep the vehicle clean and presentable
- Represent the auction house professionally with clients and the public at all times
Requirements:
- Valid UK driver’s license with a clean driving record with familiarity of driving a 3.5T Luton van
- Proven experience in professional driving or logistics (experience handling valuable or fragile items is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and care in handling goods
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to lift and move items safely
- Professional appearance and demeanor
