Shipping

We offer an in-house shipping service for clients wishing to have a range of purchased lots delivered to a UK-based address. Once each auction catalogue is published, quotes for postage of individual lots are displayed on the 'Shipping Estimate' tab on the Lot page. For clients purchasing multiple items, our shipping manager can provide a bespoke quote. Below is a quick guide to the process.

Getting a quote

Quotes are published alongside eligible lots once the auction catalogue has been published. The quote can be found on the ‘SHIPPING ESTIMATE’ tab, as can be seen in the below example. That price is for an individual lot, and is based on the low estimate figure. The final shipping price is liable to change depending on the purchase hammer price.

Example of where to find the Shipping Estimate tab:

If your invoice has multiple lots that can be shipped, our Shipping team will provide a bespoke quote for the overall shipping cost.

CONTACT US FOR A BESPOKE QUOTE

We will aim to despatch your lots in as cost-efficient way as possible. Goods will only be despatched once sale invoices and shipping costs are paid in full. Orders are processed on a first-come-first-served basis.

What can be shipped?

We are able to parcel most items and before each auction we shall signify which lots can be shipped. This can be found on the ‘SHIPPING ESTIMATE’ tab on the Lot page. Our system will display a quote for shipping within the UK, or ask you to contact us for a bespoke quote for certain items. Items that we are unable to ship include furniture, some oversized objects, guns, firearms, bladed items, and other weaponry. Other items may be ineligible at our discretion.

How do I accept a shipping quote?

If you are successful with your bidding, shipping can be added to your sale invoice. You can accept the quote yourself by accessing your invoice through your Gildings online account. Go to: My Account> Account Settings> Invoices and Payments. You will see an ADD SHIPPING button alongside each invoice.

Alternatively, speak to our team and we can add the shipping to the invoice for you to settle.

What shipping service do we use?

We despatch items through ParcelForce using their ‘EXPRESS AM’ service. When the parcel(s) have been collected by ParcelForce, we shall notify you and issue you a tracking number. Goods are expected to arrive the next morning after despatch.

Changing my delivery address

You can have your items mailed to a different address than that of your invoice. Update your address details in your Gildings online account settings by adding a Delivery Address to supplement your main registered address.

What are my alternatives?

You are of course entitled to use your own shipping service provider. Once you have appointed them, make sure you inform our office so that we can release lots without any delays.
