Pictures range from the 17th century through to the present day and feature an interesting collection of illustrations for the Radio Times by prominent commercial illustrators of the 1950s, alongside a poignant painting from the First World War of Scottish troops marching after battle, and many examples of fine Victorian genre painting. The furniture and furnishings predominantly come from a single private home with a distinctly French taste, but are also highlighted with some beautiful English pieces from the Georgian period.
